Sync your Canvas assignments and deadlines to DormWay by connecting your Canvas calendar feed. This keeps all your due dates in one place without needing to check multiple apps.
What You'll Need
- Access to your school's Canvas LMS
- Your Canvas calendar feed URL (we'll show you how to find it)
How to Find Your Canvas Calendar Feed URL
On Desktop
1. Log into Canvas at your school's Canvas site
2. Click Calendar in the left sidebar
3. Click the Calendar Feed button (bottom right of the calendar)
4. A popup will appear with your calendar URL — click Copy or select and copy the entire URL
On Mobile (Canvas App)
1. Open the Canvas app and tap Calendar
2. Tap the three dots menu (top right)
3. Tap Calendar Feed
4. Copy the URL that appears
How to Connect to DormWay
1. Go to Settings → Connections in DormWay
2. Click Connect next to Canvas LMS
3. Paste your full calendar feed URL into the field
4. Click Connect
Your Canvas assignments will start syncing automatically.
Troubleshooting
"URL must start with https://"
Make sure you copied the complete URL. Canvas feed URLs always start with https://.
"URL must end with .ics"
The URL should end with .ics — this is the calendar feed format. If yours doesn't, you may have copied a regular Canvas link instead of the calendar feed link.
Can't find the Calendar Feed button?
Some schools disable this feature. Contact your school's IT help desk to ask if Canvas calendar feeds are enabled.
Assignments not showing up?
- It can take a few minutes for your first sync to complete
- Only assignments with due dates will appear
- Check that your courses are published and have assignments
Privacy Note
Your calendar feed URL is private to you. DormWay only reads your assignment due dates and course schedule — we never modify anything in Canvas.
